Leadership

What makes a good leader?
Is is charisma, charm, good looks, a winning smile, a powerful speaking voice, or is it something that is indescribable?
What traits should one look for in a good leader?
Who are some good leaders from the past and today? Why are or were they so good?
How do students show leadership? Is it important to do so?

Students who show initiative in school, and set an example. They don't have to be in sports or they don't have to be popular, they don't have to be the smartest to put it simply, they influence people. If you influence someone to do something good or bad you are a leader if you like it or not, decisions made everyday not only by students but by staff decisions to do whats right, decisions not to complain or even have a good attitude there is not a mail order form for a leader they come in all shapes, sizes, personalities, and situations.

A good leader should have the following: a powerful and persuasive voice, an open mind, a friendly character, a quick thinker, a good listener, and one to make good decisions in difficult times. The greatest leader in my eyes was Abraham Lincoln; if someone can hold together a country that's fighting against itself, that person must be something great. Lincoln didn't take a side and to his best ability, kept the country from completely splitting apart. I think if it weren't for him we'd be speaking Spanish or something and be a seperate country from the South.

Students show leadership by taking action when something is happening-whether it be someone on student council fixing a problem in the system or someone calming a class down from discussion. A student leader is someone who can make an impact on their class as being a person who can freely express their ideas and actually turning heads at the words said. A leader is someone people can look up to and I think it's important students try to become one.

So Jamie- how does a leader become one? How can any student be a leader? Are you? I love the comment about calming down a class discussion. I realized that it does take a good leader to do that.

Having good leadership is important. You want to be a role model who children can look up too. Being a bully or just a difficult person to get along with is annoying you want to be nice and have a good attitude about things. Leadership is very import!

Any student can be a leader just by taking charge and letting everyone know what they think; act as if you're in charge, being a leader is nothing more than taking charge really...Anyone has potential of being a leader, it's just actually getting up and doing the act.
