Wow, we have a debate going here. So let's get away from political parties, gender, race and stereotypes. What qualities should a person have in order to become president?

That would all depend on what you would want to see happen in the national government. For example: If you want to see abortion banned in America, you would want someone who is pro-life to be a quality in running the country. Overall, I think that a president sould be loyal to his/HER word, well-educated unlike our current president and able to get things done and done efficiently but like I said earlier it all depends on what you personally want to see happen!! :)

Darn, I was enjoying that.

Good qualities for presidency:

-Understanding of how the country should and need to be run

-I don't really think education is a big matter. If they know what they're doing, yet they got a 1.7 GPA in high school, hey, they're good enough for the job in my book

-Another thing. They have to be capable of doing the job.

Well that's all I can think of...my mind is elsewhere tonight....*RIP Heath =(*

I believe the President should have as clean of record as he/she can while still being able to relate to all aspects of society. They need to be intelligent and able to take the heat for other people's mistakes along with unbeatable patience. I also believe that characteristics of presidents are up to the voters that elect them. Voters want to elect a president that is most closely related to themselves in beliefs and qualities. I can't imagine people electing a president that was not well educated though, that would be ridiculous...why would we waste four years of our time listening to a guy that couldn't pass school? WOW! Well I guess whoever does get elected must have the qualities of a president or are capable of achieving qualities of a president because they were elected.

i think that in order to be president, i think that you need to have a pro-life and also need to know a little about the country.i think that a president should be honest, and loyal. They actually need to want the job and not take it as a laughing matter.

In order to become our next president, they must follow or meet the criteria in my book:
1. They must be understanding of our Consitution and Bill of Rights-if they do anything to go against it or break any of our laws.
2. They must put our country and her people before him/herself. Our country and people are more important than an weekend vacation. If they deserve a break and our country can spare it, go ahead and take a break, but if we are in a middle of a war and our country is going to hell...Hell no! You don't deserve a break!
3. Must be diplomatic-he/she must know the culture of our allies and enemies. He or she must know how to deal with other countires in a diplomatic way. Conflict always comes after diplomacy-not the other way around.
4. Must be educated and have some experience-I don't care where they went to college or how long they've been in the senate, but they must have knowledge of how to run a country and make sure it is in perfect condition for his/her precessor.

My mind must have wandered because I did not complete my thoughts here! I am so dreadfully sorry! Let me finish it now then. I think that if they break any of those rules or laws, that they should be impeaced. As an American we must embrace our rights and freedoms and not take them away. We must be an example for everyone else in the world and it is hard to do that when you are invading countries and taking away American citizen's rights!

Sorry about that!!!
