I think that cell phones can definately be used in the classroom as a leaning tool. They can easily access the internet and would be very helpful for those of us who need the internet in class. But, on the other hand cell phones in school for learning could easily become a problem. Students could easily access things they otherwise shouldn't be viewing. This is a very controversail subject that could be both helpful and destructive.
I think that if this proposal came up, that the only reason the student body would want it would be for texting usage; this would also be the reason why the school board would immediately turn it down if it was doubtedly brought up. Also some students are not able to access the internet on their phones for their cell companies possibly make them pay extra for accessing the internet for a prolonged amount of time needed in the class room.
Since I am practically mentally challenged when it comes to technology, I think it would be great to use cell phones especially as tools in class because it would force me to learn something new that is so useful in countless ways. I think sometimes I am just being lazy because I think that becuase there is so much to learn that if I can't learn it all I won't learn anything. I personally would benefit from using cell phones in class because of this.
I don't see a blog...But to answer the question, I don't think cell phones should be used in the classroom. We do have calculators, pen, and paper...why bring such a nuisance into school?
I think that if the school did decide to bring in cell phones, (which they never will because hello its redfield) their will be people who abuse it. And it would be another thing we would get taken away since it would be a "privelage". It would be useful in the classroom, since half the websites are blocked and we cant get on them. Cell phones would be nice to have but it would be a distraction for some people and they will abuse the "privelage". So i think that we shouldnt have the "privelage" to have cell phones, because it would be another reason to have "meetings" in the auditorium and hearing Mr.Lewis talking about.
Cell phones would be nice to have in class, but even though they're and advantage students will take advantage of this good situation. Texting would be the major issue, but it would be nice to have phones in class. But why not just skip cell phones and upgrade to laptops? Our school is in great need of a technology boost and soon.
I think that using cell phones for educational purposes is a great idea. There are so many things that you can do on your cell phone...they outnumber what you can do on a computer. I believe that it would make some school work easier because you could contact another person in class without interrupting the entire class and then you can share information between two or more students. If you have a phone with internet connection, you would be in even better shape. But anyway cell phones used for education and not screwing around would be a valuable asset to the students in a classroom.
Even though phones would be helpful during class, I highly doubt that we will ever be able to use them. Along with this opportunity, students would also have the opportunity to see or do things that they shouldn't. Ultimately there is no way around it that I can see. We will just have to use the old, slow computers that are blocked from a bunch of useful information because people take advantage of these types of things.
I believe that cell phones were allowed to be used in the classroom, they would become more of a nuissance for teachers then an aid. I can see them being a huge problem because of all the texting that would go on. Instead of using cell phones, I think that laptops would be far more resourceful. You could not only use the Internet on laptops, but you could also use word, publisher, and other helpful tools such as these. I dont think cell phones are the answer, but i definetly think laptops should be considered.
I dont think that phones should be used in school because it would just be another way to cheat. They would also be abused and eventually taken away by Lewis. I also think that some kids would be to concentrated on their phone and not school work.
Cell phones are a great useful tool to use for school, but on the other hand, there are many people who would use it to cheat by texting the answers back and forth. It would be very easily done. One great thing is that we can access the internet from our phones, and if you don't have a computer with internet that would be very benificial for you instead of having to go into school like and hour early to finish it. Since they aren't allowed it is very disturbing in class when people all around you are sitting there with their books over their cell phone texting. It annoys me so much!! :( but anyways, if we actually got to use them legally they would be a great tool for some, and a great nuisance for others.
Cell phones these days can do a lot. Most everyone in school has one that can access the internet and would be very help full because pleople would have to ask for passes to go to the lab for just looking something up quick it can be done very easily on you cell. Out side of school it keeps people in contact and no one has to get in trouble. Then theres the bad side of cell phones. Kids text in class instead of listening. Kids cheat on assignments. Most of all they could get a call and disrupt the whole class. This is one subject i don't know if we will ever have the chance to see because of the bad side,
I think both ways on this because cell phones can be very helpful in class for accessing the internet. But then again it can be a big distraction because of people texting a sometimes the noise can be an annoyance.
I think that cell phones can be both a helpful and non helpful learning tool when used in the classroom. I believe that cell phones can be a very useful resource when it comes to learning in the classroom. They are equipped with many things such as calendars to keep you organized, calculators to help you with your math, and a connection to the internet that can help you with various things. Cell phones can also be a major distraction and can take students concentration away from their work when used in the wrong way such as txting. Cell phones can also cause the student to get into trouble and violate school policy.
i belive that there are good things about useing cell phone in the class but there is some bad things like they wont pay attention and would text there friends
