I think it is very true that these games really do influence people to do this kind of stuff. I think people should really have control over themselves and not do this. I really think that people should not play these games if they cannot control themselves. I dont think this will ever happen here but there is always a little chance. Some games I think influence people in these ways are: Grand Theft Auto, James Bond, Doom, and Call of Duty.

I think that it is ok to play video games and i also think that if you play them to much that you may actually do something stupid. Like do school shoting, sell drugs, and steal cars and kill people just like they allow you to do in the games that people play. Like the new Grand Theft Auto 4 that came out it is so detailed. It is like you are in real life like when you hit someone in the game they just lay over the hood and then when you hit something going fast it rips their head right off. When you steal a car you rip open the door and then hit the driver and then you grab them and throw them out the door. There are alot of games that deal with that stuff like all the grand theft auto games, call of duty, war games, Halo, doom,

I think that all the violent games today influence people to cause violence, even if they think it is just in the game. Eventually, if played long enough, the games can mess with your mind and even we could have a school shooting. I think people should stay away from them, especially if they ever have problems controling anger.

I think that games in which provoke violence influence those who one may call "mentally unstable" to start with. I don't think that "video game withdrawl" was the main reason for it, but it probably had something to do with it. Maybe harshly said, but those who stray away from social happenings and those who exclude themselves from trying to be with others have a higher chance of becoming violent because they usually resort to releasing their negative feelings into video games. So maybe when the games aren't there anymore, they find no other way to release their anger, etc.

I know that there are several video games that parents would be surprised that their children have. I think that parents are completely oblivious to what their children have and do. It is scary what some of the video games have in them. I must say that I am not much of a video game player, but I do know what is out there and it is astonishing!

Videogames are everything to some kids. Yes, it is true that they influence every aspect of their lives and that is scary. There have been violent acts that are based purely on a video game. But video game producers most likely wouldn't have a job unless they incorporated some bad behavior in their games since most of the people that play them will never get to experience it in real life. It is pretty scary to think what's next in a video game...are there going to be virtual games where actually people control the characters. Well, if that happens I believe that someone is going to have to step in and draw a line for appropriate games.

I think that violent video games are not suitable for kids under the age of 18, because they can cause a different adittude that can or will lead to school shootings or even killing in there own family. Violent video games shouldn't even be made, if the company needs money make a descent game to play instead of killing or crashing into people.

I don't completely agree with all of that, If the game is to blame then you better go to the parents who let them buy the game, yes some games are bad, but the kids should know their boundaries they are probably just stuck up erragant a-holes that don't care about other people and that is tought at at home. these kids defiantly need help. I play games but I know the difference between virtual and real life. If you aren't above a certain age then u cant buy certain rated games. these kids need to respect life more and GOD Help Them if they do stuff like that.

I like how they target video games. We all know that video games are the bane of humanity and causes any and all violence which occurs in the world. No chance that movies with much gore and fighting or songs with lyrics that mention shooting places up or beating prostitites attribute to violence in school. No way.

I enjoy James' sarcasm and somewhat agree. Videogames aren't the only cause of all the problems of the world, but they are pretty close to the main reason. they don't only cause violence, but they can cause obesity also. Videogames are something that has been created in society that are not necessary.

I think its true that kids/teens who do play those kind of video games are more likely to kill, hurt, or drink and drive. When people play these games the game makes it seem like it's the right thing to do. They don't know how to distinguish between right and wrong. On the video game Grand Theft Auto, they allow you to drink and drive and shoot people on the streets. In my opinion, that's something that should not be on a video came.

video games with violence is bad because it puts a bad affect of kids especialy kids with problems. it can make kids do school shootings and kill, and drugs.

I think that video games are a complete waste of time when you have better things to do. They definately could influence what kids do, but in the end the choice is theirs and that is something a video game can't do.

I have seen the content in some of the videogames that today's teens and young kids play these days and it amazes me how parents will let their kids play these. I think that (possibly)some of these parents think that their children will not be affected by these violent games because they are 'too young' to be affected and/or influenced by it. Kids are growing up at a faster rate in this generation partly because of the media and the types of elements they are introduced to that is starting at younger and younger ages. Kids become desensitized when they witness killing, gang violence, robbery, etc. in the games that they play for 'fun'. They may know in the beginning that murder, stealing, and violence is wrong, but after prolonged exposure to this violence, that barrier that used to tell them that those things are wrong is slowly taken down to the point where the kids could possibly commit those acts with little guilt. The virtual games that make the scene seem so real also are taking down the barrier that separates real life from pretend.

I know two words that describe video game withdrawl: James Lynch.

I guess video games are somewhat to blame. But like James said, they're not all to blame. Music today isn't all that great either. Movies aren't any better. I play video games, but not every day. Every once in a while when I get bored. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to go out and steal a car.
