I think that it is very important because if you are bored and you do not really want to learn the information then you will absolutely learn nothing. I believe that learning what you will need in the future is most important. When you take a class that does not apply to what you want to be when you grow up it is hard to want to listen. If you already know the subject and don't listen to the teacher you could miss important things that you already know. You must learn how to learn because if you don't you may miss the most important things that you may need. For me, I want to be a lawyer so the more things that I learn the better it is for me. It makes my life easier when going through cases because if I know something and it doesn't look like it should, then maybe I can help my client so he can be safe from paying fines or going to jail.

The author sounds like he knows exactly what high school is like. Those are some of the most important things to know, not just for high school, but for life. Of course, there are other important things that should be relayed to teens, but they can't be simplified into ten ideas, and most of them need to be learned by the student, instead of taught by a teacher. This list describes what you need to know and do in high school. But it doesn't include things high schoolers should know enough not to do, or what they should at least learn not to do. It doesn't include the destructive behaviors that lead to the violation of the 10 things he listed.
The list is a good thing, but is also hard to absorb, especially by those who choose not to. Reading this list will help few, following through with this list will help many people around you.
