This is cool footage of Chinese construction workers building a 15-story hotel in just a few days. Time lapse shows several days of work in just 48 hours. Could construction workers in the United States achieve this? Why?

Okay. I watched that and I got somewhat confused because technically they did not finish the building completely in 48 hours. I guess if completed means just built up then yes, but if they wanted to include the rest of the building then no. However, I think yes the United States could complete such task. It would be like having four days of work if you went nonstop. The whole United States does have the rep of laziness, but I am sure we could still pick out of few non-lazy people willing to complete a project like this. Thank-you
I think that this could be possible in the United States. If it is possible in another country then I don't see why the United States could not also accomplish this task. I agree that they would not have enough time to completely finish the building in two day, but I think with the proper supplies, this could be possible. It would be cool to see this happen in our area! This is just like the Etreme Makeover for homes. They build a full house in just a week's time.
Well the United States is just as capable as any country when it comes to working and getting work done with quality. While it is true that there are so many obese people here, we tend to forget about the other 65 percent who get all the work done for these people. I think that everywhere that there is technology there is an obesity problem. We do need to fix this, but we need to stop making such a huge deal out of it. I think that the United States is by far the most capable country in the world, and we could prove it any time we want.
I'm sure the united states could accomplish this goal just as quickly as any other country out there. Infact, we could probably accomplish it faster than some (factoring in the countries with few technological advances). However, I dont see anyone in America doing that. We are very much a country of "why". I can see someone in America say "why would we want to construct a building in 48 hours? whats the point? lets take our time and do it right". Maybe that person would be right, I'm not sure. Maybe it would be dangerous to try and accomplish this so fast. You know, its a huge building and when the workers are in a rush there could be accidents. Accidents=lawsuits, and there are alot of people in the United States looking for a good excuse to take other people's money. I know, that's kind of a stereotypical view of americans.
I think that American people are somewhat too stubborn and lazy to even try to build a building in 2 days. I also agree with Chloe that they didn’t technically finish the building in 2 days, it was just constructed. That is quite an accomplishment. I do believe that America could build it, but I don’t think there is really any reason why it would have to be done so fast. I think that we would just want to get it done right so that there wouldn’t be any risk of injury. What if that building was built so fast that some short cuts were taken? I don’t know if I could trust anyone to build anything that major so fast.
Hello, we are the United States. Wecan do absolutely anything if we put our minds to it. We have the technological advances to do it. It's just actually doing it. I agree that we would never try such a feat for safety reasons, but itcould be done.
I would have to say that the US would not been able to do that in 48 hours. The reason for that because we Americans are know to be lazy and slow. I saw that they did not have a single injured through out the whole time building, I think that is very impresive to me. The US would end up with a few people injured it just always happens. We do not know how to be careful we think that nothing can hurt us or that nothing like that could happen to us. I may live in the US but I would just think that no we would never do anything like they did, besides I don't know if we also work at nights building.
