Homecoming
Well, we (I) have survived another homecoming week at RHS. There were no injuries (that I know of anyway) and most people had a lot of fun. The week flew by and I really don't know where it went. I spent today working at the library and played tour guide to a group who was having their 50+ class reunion. I was amazed at how many of their memories revolved around the library and the other buildings in Redfield. I guess most of my memories are tied to people and events. It was a nice visit with some alumni who truly appreciated Redfield and what they had here when they lived here. So what are memories made of- people, places, events? Where will this year's homecoming live in those memories?

Memories are made of everything! They're anything you want them to be : eating ice-cream on the beach, reading a book curled up in a warm, comforting chair, or even painting windows ;) For me, this year's homecoming will definitely live in painting windows and the spoon's tournament in the game room.
I'm just glad I survived until my 16th birthday...whoo. I was SO sure I was going to die of exhaustion yesterday!!!!
Well I survived another year of homecoming shinanigins. I didn't get taken out. Woot Woot.
haha ya homecomein was fun i think the best part was when me,andrew, kention and cody sheilds was driving and he got pulled over or xapishion driving
Wow Chris, you spelled Expedition pretty funny. haha.
But yeah, that was pretty fun.
And Ashley, the spoons game was pretty fun. Other than me losing right away...
Memories are made of all- the people, the place, and the event. When I look back at my LAST high school homecoming I will definitly remember all the work we put into the spillway and how much fun it was to participate in that activity. Another fond memory of homecoming that I will always remember is how the class of 2009 won the float contest every year throughout our high school years!
Haha, I've never been taken out nor have I ever taken anybody out...what an accomplishment =D
ya i had no clue how to speel that word so i just winged it and faild
And Chris you fail again.
Homecoming was for the most part a blast...meaning taking kids out was delayed because of the cops and the kids driving around all the time. It gets dangerous trying to get them out of the vehicle while they nearly run you over. Painting the spill way was really good time...i feel bad for the seniors that didnt get to or wont get to paint the spillway cuz it is a big part of your senior year.
This years homecoming did not seem all that special to me. It just didnt seem like people were all that into it this year. Hazing was not a big issue this year and i dont think much happened anyway. My greatest memory from this years homecoming was helping out at the baseball field and getting to hang with friends.
To me, memories are made of everything. It can be the place, the people you are with, your thoughts on a matter, the way a situation goes, anything. This years homecoming didn't really seem to stand out for me. The funnest part, for me, would have to be working down at the football field.
Oh, so journalism's "assignments" don't stick out? Gee thanks, Em!
Wonderful comments Ashley, Andrew, and Chris, very funny. Anyways I also survived homecoming mostly by staying home. I think that memories are made up of what you found interesting at that time and place so different people find different things memerable.
I was lucky enough to work at Fishers Grove. It was great time. Driving the golf carts all day was a blast. We cut down limbs and took them out to the middle of nowhere. And we had a few occasional races... ^-^
Andrew....uh....you worked at Fisher's Grove? What the heck?!
andrew dont you mean the gulf place
I never was really all that interested in homecoming until I moved here. We rocked and we had a great time. I did get taken out but I am still alive right? oh and Chris... look up every single word you spell. get it got it good. We may have lost our homecoming game but we had plenty of support. I was debating on whether or not to put fart gas underneath the opponents bleachers. They would have left and lost their support so we could have had a chance... maybe. Anyway I couldn't find any. I will do it next year. I had all-state chorus tryouts during the movies and games, which sucked, but I made it. Andrew. My project was better. Working at the football field and cutting trees. Oh, and driving Stover's truck was awesome too. Christian it is the golf place.
any way I had a great time. The dancing was fun, the party I went to was fun and Ya I am sorry for putting it in twice
I think memories can be made anywhere, but it's the people there with you that make it special. I never thought I would have memories of the Appel's shed, but I have some of the greatest for homecoming there. This year some of our class went back Wednesday night to work on our float. We listened to music, built the float, and had a great time. The hazing wasn't that big of a deal this year. But being an upperclassmen I wish the younger kids were out walking, instead of driving around trying to take kids out...they were the kids to be taken out. Oh well! Although there definately could have been some improvements of homecoming, this homecoming was pretty good.
