I say do have homework! Without homework, people can get lost and can have problems understanding what is going on. With homework the students have to look at it and do it. Even if they cheat they still see it and are understanding a little... Yes there is a problem with cheating and just using others to get done but I believe strongly in homework because in college there is a need to use it for studying. You can't get anywhere cheating in college. The workload is much harder and if you give it up in high school, how is that going to help you later?

I have mixed emotions. The hectic lifestyle I have really gets dragged down by having to do a ton of make-up work or by making sure I get all of my assignments done. This may also be partially due to my lazy side. I think that doing homework benefits greatly in classes like math or chemistry because you have to practice and work on it to understand it more. Some teachers make us do homework that a lot of kids aren’t putting much effort into because they aren’t teaching you a lesson or helping you learn something vital for the future; for example, current events. In conclusion, we should be assigned SOME homework, but most definitely LESS homework.

I would have to say homework. As much as I really dont like it, it really does help me prepare for tests. Some teachers sometimes tend to over do it. I think they just like to hear students complain when they hand out a 10 page packet, but thats just me. Homework does get to be overwhelming sometimes, but some of that might be because students like to procrastinate. I will admit that I procrastinate in some classes, but I am learning that it's just easier to get everything done right away then laugh at the people who are freaking out because they dont have anything done. Overall, homework will help you out in the long run, but it wouldnt hurt to have a little less every now and then.

Yeah, I´m not a fan of homework. Sure, I can take it home and work on it. But, why should I when I can just copy it down from somebody else? Homework quizzes are the way to go. Teach the stuff then take a very small quiz the next day. It's an easy way to bump your grade up and know your stuff. Also, with less homework, kids feel less pressured with their time. And, with less homework assigned, less homework comes in, which frees up those busy teacher schedules!

As much as I hate it, I have to say homework is a must. It keep me stressed and up late, but without it I think my life could possibly be even more stressful. If we didn't have homework I would probably spend even more time studying blase textbooks and spending hours of my time trying to retain information that does not easily stick in my brain. Homework cuts down study time and helps me remember the important information for text time.

I am kind of on both sides of having homework or not. The first thing is, that I think teachers should give us our homework assignments towards the middle of the class and not right as we are walking out the door as the bell rings. By teachers doing this, kids are staying up way to late doing homework, because they either have practice or games after school. On the other side, I think that having homework is somewhat of a good thing. Homework is basically practice, and if you don't practice stuff, how are we going to get any better and know how to do those things on a test?

As much as I regret saying this I would definitely have to say homework. I procrastinate like any other high school student, but also when I know that a certain assignment needs to be done I get it done. Although I am not a fan of homework, I would have to say that it keeps kids from doing certain things and it always keeps students on edge just a little bit because they will never know if the teacher is going to grade the homework or not. Homework quizzes are a good way to go, but for those kids that struggle with quizzes it's not so helpful. I am totally for homework because it helps you remember things you would forget usually forget if you had to read the textbook. Besides, there can be a lot of useless information in the textbook that you remember, but when it comes to the important things you don't even recall if it was even in that certain chapter.

Although homework isn't my favorite thing to do in the world, I would have to agree with the above comments that students do need it. At times it is a bit overwhelming and stressful, but homework gives students the practice upcoming tests and quizes. Many high school kids are involved with extra-curricular activities such as sports, clubs, or jobs, therefore I think after being in school for seven hours each day, homework should be limited. It is hard to keep up with everyday homework in eight classes, along with projects that we put off until the last second. I think it would be wise for students to have more time in class to work, and less homework sent home at night.
