Take a look by clicking on them and then tell me what you think about their speeches.

Dude, I'm so f'ing glad I didn't watch this speach. I would been PIEESED! Okay, so I'm totally against Obama-puke-a-rama-ate-a-llama-in-front-of-his-mama. *Go McCain! Woop woop!*

Anywho, the stupid wordle thing wont' show up on mis computadora so I'll just go w/ what I see.

Obama: A LOTTTTTT of "Promise", "AMERICA", and "McCain." And tell ya what, promise means a helluva lot like "change." I can't even finish--I guess I hate the freak THAT MUCH

McCain (go!!): Americans and Going seems to be the strong words. (hey MUCH better than PROMISE and CHANGE...there's only so much CHANGE one person can handle!!!!)

Okay, so honestly, you should have another debate on here about the presidential canidates...It'd be fun...mwah haha ;)

Jeez, Ashley, don't get so excited over wordle analysis. Politics is politics and you can't even vote, yet. So relax and enjoy the name-calling, bickering, slandering next two months that we call election-time. (And by the way- try to tone down the language- remember the world could read these and make judgements that are not true.)

Oh wow...that's all I can say. I thought Nobama's speech was supposed to be an acceptance speech not a "let's all slam McCain" speech. I did watch part of this speech and I thought the whole theme was "Change." And as I recall change was not very big in this Wordle thing. So I wonder how much of this so called "change" will he bring us if all he focused on is slashing McCain.

As for McCain's speech, I noticed that country and Americans are the biggest words. Maybe I have misinterpreted it (as most Nobama supporters will probably say it quite true)but I think that "country" and "Americans" is a lot more reassuring than "McCain" and "promises" which will more than likely become empty ones if he is elected to office. McCain's words are more generated towards the people of America not the Democratic delegates who were of course going to vote for Nobama.

Oh I really need to add this even though it's off topic but I just like slamming Nobama so much I have to put it out here. I saw this quote while watching Sarah Palin's speech (which was extremly good!) He said "Barack Obama's excellent adventure to Europe took his campaign for change to hundreds of thousands of people who don't even vote or pay taxes here." I agree with that quote 100% and I have no idea why he would take that trip to Europe in the first place.

Lastly...I agree with Ashley about the presidential candidates debate idea. It really let's release some angry and frustration haha!

*Laughs* Am I supposed to feel guilty?

Otherwise, I have no comment :)

Cos I don't.

Oh, Kate, did you hear the one line in Palin's speech about being mayor and ...oh well here it is:

"I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer," except that you have actual responsibilities." Now she was mayor and Nobama was the community organizer. I swear, Obama has absolutely NO experience, so therefore clearly not able to be our president.

ahahahah!!! Ashley that quote was soo funny. I watched her speech and it was AMAZING! She has to be my new role model.

Ok I disagree sooooooo much with what was previously said...I'm shaking!

As it was previously mentioned, you see the words "Promise", "America", and "McCain" standing out in the Obama wordle, while on the other hand you have the words "Americans" and "Going" standing out in the McCain wordle.

Obama's speech in my opinion was very well spoken and it did have quite a bit to do with change...which is what this country needs. Gas prices are extremely high because we're depending on foreign oil...which we don't need because we have oil here in our country! No Child Left Behind is basically making students learn how to take a test...NOT actually learn useful information!(meanwhile our own president can't speak two whole senteces correctly!) We are trillions of dollars in debt because we are pointlessly interfering with a religious war that has been going on for centuries (the war to defend our country in the beginning was noble, i agreee, but we have no use being in Iraq now...just thought i'd throw that in there)Getting to my point...how did we come upon these misfortunes?? Who was leading us?? REPUBLICAN LEADERS (if you can respectfully call them leaders at all)

McCain is dwelling on the past...how he fought in battles and so on...he's an older version of what we have now! Change can be a good thing...it's just SOME PEOPLE (ashley...ehem) are too narrow minded to accept the real world around them and adapt to it.

As for his vice presidential canidate, I just don't see how it would be in her best interest to run for the position. She's a young mother who seems to already have family issues...and honestly, if McCain dies (which may be likely considering how old he is), do we really want her as president?? The reasoning for appointing her to the position was for publicity. She's a woman who people can simpathize with.

As for Obama's "let's slam McCain" speech thing...at least he did it in a political, not personal or stupid, way. Unlike "Obama-puke-a-rama-ate-a-llama-in-front-of-his-mama", "Nobama", etc. At least he has a somewhat humorous, correct, and MATURE "slam".

Would I say Obama is the perfect persona and should be elected president because of that...no. I think he should be president because of some of his ideas, NOT because he's perfect because he isn't...NOBODY IS!!!!! I think this whole thing is turning into a popularity contest, not a political campaign...and it makes me sick!!!!!!!!!!!

...and there's my opinion. Take it or leave it...

Anonymous said...

Yeesh, Becca, you surely do know how to frustrate me!! You're shaking? I'm trying not to yell...(mainly b/c Jenny and Mrs. Galvin wouldn't have a clue what's goin on...haha!) GRRR! Okay, wanna know what's so wrong with your choice of president? :

1. He has NO experience. End of story.
2. He is a RACIST!!! Okay, so some people don't believe so, but okay, he's definitely playing up the race card with his campaign. If he doesn't win, the black population is going to mention how racist American citizens are, and if he does win, they're going to say how great they are. Race is playing a HUGE part in all of this, and yet, some people are just to ignorant to acknowledge that. (ahem, Becca...cough cough ahem)
3. His wife. That...that...that WOMAN ain't even proud of this country!! Need I remind you of a little quote she said? "For once in my life, I feel proud to be an American citizen." True story. Don't believe me? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,331288,00.html Maybe this will clear some stuff up.
4. The "change". That's all that he talks about...change change change change more change!! BLAH! I hate change! Well, okay not really. but with him? He sure does LOVE change!! Why is it that he's always CHANGING his plans for stuff (our economy, our addiction to foreign oil, ect)?

http://www.namibian.com.na/2008/June/letters/08C5F78DD.html

^^^ More info on how awful Obama-rama would be. I'm tired of talking about him. On to McCain and Palin!

Palin. People say that she should stay home and be a parent. How sexist is THAT?! Obama has children, but you NEVER hear people talk about how he should stay home with his kids. People, this is NOTTTTTTTT!!! the 1950s!! Women are JUST as capable of holding important offices as men are. She also has a lot of experience!

"As governor of Alaska, Palin pushed to reduce state government spending, including cutting $1.6 billion from the Alaskan construction budget.[73] She has not opposed the increased federal funding of construction programs for her state.[135]

Palin has promoted oil and natural gas resource development in Alaska, including in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).[66] She has opposed federal listing of the polar bear as an endangered species, warning that it would adversely affect energy development in Alaska.[136] She has also opposed the designation of the Cook Inlet beluga whale as an endangered species[137] and, with the majority of Alaskans, has supported predator control initiatives such as the aerial hunting of wolves."

How sweet is this chick?! An avid hunter...dude, she's freaking amazing! And kudos to her - her down syndrome child. I've heard some people talk about how she should have had an abortion...but wouldn't that be infringing on the mentally handicapped people? Palin has the support of mothers, women, hunters, parents of mentally handicapped children...and me. she would be perfect for our VP.

Biden? Pssh, I'd rather die than see him as our VP. I dunno who's worse : Obama or Biden. Now, I don't feel like chatting anymore about biden/Obama, so I'll end with this.

Becca, Republicans have been in the office more times than democrats. Some of our greatest presidents were Republicans : Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Hayes, and so on and so fourth. Democrats are nothing more than stuck-up freaks. End of story there!

Okay, that's about it for me...for now. But I'm still pretty enfadado...

Anonymous said...

Oh, and Becca, if it WAS a popularity contest, Obama would win. Mainly because you have the people like you and all the other 18-25 year olds who have NO idea what's actually going on in the political world.

A word of advice: don't bother. Go watch some Spongebob or something...

=D

"Gas prices are extremely high because we're depending on foreign oil...which we don't need because we have oil here in our country!"

Okay, so now I feel like I'm spamming this, but I just noticed this. Becca, yes we do have oil in our country in alaska, but not enough for us to depend on it. It might last us for ten years, but then we're still going to be depending on foreign oil. If we would just strengthen our relationships with other countries, we would be able to get oil at a much more reasonable price. Oh, and if you haven't done so, try watching "Farenheit 9/11." Very good movie, especially if you hate Bush.

Anonymous said...

Ok Ashley that's the freaking dumbest response I've ever heard..."go watch Spongebob"...yeah you're really proving your point by showing your extensive amounts of maturity.

1. What the heck Obama has no experience...but it's good to know that if we have Palin in office that Alaskan arial hunting of wolves will be legal...since this helps our country so much with diplomatic relations. After all, look at today's Vice President! hahahaha...and maybe Obama isn't as experienced (old) as McCain, but he's intelligent enough to surround himself with a cabinet that will advise him wisely.

2.Racist?!...I have yet to hear any reference to race other than from scared Republicans. THEY are the ones playing the race card!...makes me wonder if they're scared of losing???...so they have to get a WOMAN as a vice presidental candidate to represent a minority...and yes I said a MINORITY! And Ashley, you just proved my previous point about sympathizing with Palin...read your own writing...she doesn't have support of women, mothers, and families of handicapped children...she has SYMPATHY! There is already plenty of support for the handicapped, thanks to, let me think...not the Republicans...oh yeah, the Democrats! (by the way, ashley, are you racist??...you're the one who can't seem to get past that Obama is black...oh and by the way, his mother was white)

3.As for Obama's wife...what's wrong with saying she's finally proud to be an American? There have been times in the past few years that we have been disappointed in the way America has been represented...but any quote can be taken out of context.

4.Obama has not changed his stance on the actual topic of change...but McCain has seemed to side somewhat with Obama in the fact that this country needs CHANGE...YES HE DID SAY THIS! It comes down to what people want to change...do they want a new face in office or do they want a repeat of the last eight years? We need a president who is willing to look for new energy sources so our dependence on foreign oil is lessened. The Republicans are so finacially tied up in oil, they aren't willing to look for new energy sources because they might have to give up a couple million dollars...DARN!...they'll only have a couple million left. They won't allow car manufacturers to produce a vehicle that will get 50 miles to the gallon and the technology has been there for years...that's why people buy foreign cars...thus taking away more jobs from Americans...now that's really helping the unemployment rate, which may I add is the highest it's been in eight years...not to mention the economy! Now you really don't think we need change, huh?...and this is just the tip of the iceberg. What about healthcare for everybody? What about creating jobs here in America instead of sending work overseas?...but we don't need change, right Ashley??

5.As you have previously proven, Republicans are so focused on themselves, (while making the rich richer and the poor poorer) they can't see what this country really needs...unity. You have to realize there are people in this nation who have little or nothing...no homes, no jobs...dying becuase of the lack of proper healthcare. Was is not written in the Constitution that all men are created equal? So why are there people who have "eight, nine...i'm not sure how many" houses (McCain) while other Americans are living on the street?...but we don't need change...maybe that word bothers you, Ashley, because you may actually have to open your mind and see the world for what is really is...full of unavoidable political issues that people would have to be brain dead not to understand...we just have to figure out how to make this country better...TOGETHER!...and if you have a problem with that, I'll kinda feel sorry for ya...you may want to examine your sense of patriotism...

...so there is my complete opinion...WITHOUT slang! and if you don't understand some of these grown up words, you may have to pull yourself away from Spongebob and ask an adult what they mean...(just remember...you started it)

OK girls- I am enjoying this reparte of wit, but I hope that none of this is taken so seriously that feelings are hurt. We are all entitled to our opinions and you both had some support for your ideas. I would encourage you to read your favorite candidate's website for information on what he believes and the promises he makes. Both sites are really informatative if you take them with a grain of salt.
As a registered independent, I vote for the candidnate who I think will do the best job supoorting education, health care and social security. Remember Obama and McCain are only men, one of whom will have to fight Congress to get waht he wants. Just because they say things during the camapiagn year, doesn't mean those things will happen they way they say they will or at all. I am enjoying the passion of this debate and wish that others would join in.

Anonymous said...

No, Mrs. Hansen, feelings aren't getting hurt. Perhaps maybe a bit steamed, but that's fine. I really love doing this :D haha

Okay, back on topic. Becca, I didn't mean it literally (the whole SBSP thing); I merely suggested that you try not to bother understanding politics. Some people just don't seem to understand and be open minded on all sides. Will it make you feel better if I commend Obama? Alright : I will admit that he is a great speaker, and he really believes what he says. he's a very good persuader, and he seems to be a very good role model for some citizens. B/c of him, more students are feeling better about their opinions, so they're more likely to spread their ideas.

But with all those postivies are negatives. For instance (now this is off of his site : http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/newenergy )

1. "Provide short-term relief to American families facing pain at the pump " Short-term? I do believe we need a LONG-TERM relief! And besides, a short-term change ain't much of a change.

"Put 1 million Plug-In Hybrid cars -- cars that can get up to 150 miles per gallon -- on the road by 2015, cars that we will work to make sure are built here in America." Okay, so this is a good idea, but honestly, how realistic is this? And even if it does happen, can you imagine the price of these vehicles? So unless the government is willing to shell out billions of dollars to purchase these cars, the middle class will not be able to afford it. Oh, and I do like how you mentioned how much experience Obama has. It's very reassuring.
2. you know what, you're so close to getting smacked. Was I sympathaszing with her, no. I was supporting her decision, which other people also do. Oh, and who do you suppose will be in Obama's cabinet? Oprah? Reverend Wright? yes, I am racist, but not against blacks, and you should know that. So what? And my dad was a nerd. Does that matter to you? No. Need I remind you of his father? Who abandoned him, as did his mother? So is he even worth keeping?
3. Isn't that a bit anti-American? If she doesn't like America (and this goes for you too), she can leave. This is AMERICA, not let's-hate-America AMERICA. Was it taken out of context? I highly doubt it. It was an awful quote, and she should be ashamed.
4. haha, so I'm just rereading what you wrote, and it actually makes me laugh. Yes, the economy is crap; yes, the unemployment rate is high. YES YES YES! Is that what you want to hear? YES?! Because it's a NO. Why won't they allow car manufacturers produce more energy-effient cars? Because it'll cost money. Which America has none of (which I believe you mentioned). So why waste money on that? Why not work with the oil companies to get oil down to a more costly price? A price EVERYONE can afford. So tell me, what is Obama going to do to help our energy-craze? Work with his Islamic friends? Will that actually work? Nope.
5. Where did I mention that? I just re-read our entire conversation, and I don't see that anywhere. So make sure you read CAREFULLY next time. Why shouldn't the rich people have 8-9 houses, especially if they earned their money? Would the lower-middle class be able to afford such houses? No, so what's the problem there? You show me where it says McCain has 8-9 houses, and maybe I'll beg to differ, but until then...grr.

Okay, so I could just jab & jab about Obama's history and how he's Muslim and how his name was Hussein, but I really don't think that would change you much. If you honestly believe that a Muslim could rule our country to make it better, than so be it. But I refuse to stick around and watch our country fall into a deeper economic recession. Because I believe that america means more than that, & McCain will definitely do the job.

Aww, thanks for caring so much =P It was pretty elementary so I think I'll go watch some more platitudinous episodes of Spongebob.

I will be joining in on this conversation on a later date! hehe

Sarah Palin IS George Bush! Here is a quick list of what they share in common:

1) Governors of states that are dependent on the oil industry and have been for 50 years.
2) Believe that they are “on a mission from God”
3) Love Guns
4) Are “folksy” people you might want to have a beer with
5) Want to make abortion totally illegal
6) Adhere absolutely to the neo-con/Conservative agenda
7) Work to punish those they perceive as “disloyal”
8) Like scripted and controlled public appearances; hate open questions and challenges
9) Actually failed in much of their “executive” experience
10) Know that Alaska is close to the Soviet Union

ok...so this is getting compeletly rediculous...we're never going to agree...plain and simple. I'm still going believe what I believe and you are going to believe. I'm tired of wasting my time and energy on a topic that we basically have no control over since we can't even vote yet. Feel free to express your opinion...I will feel free to express mine. But I'm tired raising my anger level...so go watch some more Spongebob Ashley...enjoy something away from this never-ending argument.

But in all of the disagreement, there is one thing we have to agree on...we both want what is best for our country...you think that is McCain, I think that is Obama...our points of view are different and are not going to change, but our pride and hopes for our country are the same...and i hope you realize that.

I think that the election for President of the U.S. is a big popularity contest. How do we even know these candidates really believe in the issues they stand for. For all we know, they could get into office and do things differently. I love how they all promise some sort of change, but what change? They have no plan, and it's totally obvious that they do not know what they're doing.

Ashley you have no idea what you are talking about. Obama will bring us many more things. McCain is another 4 years of Bush. Ok ashley I have one question. Did you like the years of Bush. If you did you are retarded. There is no point and Ted was right as well Palin is smiling while she says poisonous words about Democrats. Who wants to elect that hunk of garbage? So Ya vote McCain but then the rein of Bush will continue. We will go through hell if McCain is voted in. More frickin' American deaths. That sucks really badly and if you want to go through that go right ahead but there is no point in going through that again. The biggest word McCain uses is Country. What I believe that was hidden in his message was that that was he was going to make this country. Crap. You are a pile of crap if you believe what McCain is telling us. You are a mindless zombie. It is like he pulled you into his faggot like charm. There is no point to get a robotic man. He is controlled by the Republican party like a puppet on a string. We needd him to take charge and make some of his own decisions. Answer that you %!*(#.

Judd, I really don't appreciate what you're saying. I am entitled to my opinion, same as you, and so when you're calling me "stupid" for liking McCain, that's just rude and disrespectful. And if you can't seem to be nicer, then don't write on here. That was extremely rude and I don't like it. And you calling me a bitch? Yes, that's probably true, but because I have a different opinion than you does not make me one. So please, just grow up a tad bit. We are high school students, and you should be a bit kinder.

No, Judd, I didn't like the years of Bush. And you know, if I'm a mindless zombie, well, I must be one hell of a zombie then. McCain merely suggested that we stay in Iraq until our cause is fine. What cause, you may ask? Well, who the hell knows? I'm sure Bush had SOME reason (yeah, well, probably not...but whatever). McCain said we should have an OUTPOST in Iraq for a hundred+ years, not fight in Iraq for that long. And I agree with McCain. If we pull out of Iraq now, it'll be a lost cause. It'll cause taxes to rise and nothing will have changed in Iraq. And that's exactly what Obama wants done, and if you agree with that, well, more power to ya. But I do suggest you moving to Iraq and try living there.

Ted, wouldn't YOU like to have a beer with the president? I most certainly would! And sure, she and Bush have very simlair opinions...after all they ARE Republicans. I agree with most of those two, so Judd, does that make ME poisonous?

Also, Ben, that freaking rocked :) Haha you're my new hero! I think...

Anonymous said...

Oh, nicely said, Becca ;) Haha sure der! I'll certainly stop arguing...with you anyways, hehe!

Anonymous said...

Ok...so I have to put my 2 cents in here...
First of all, to everyone who is making a big deal out of Sarah Palin being a mother and vice president, I think it is absolutely great! Especially to the girls, doesn't the quote, "Girls can do anything boys can do, but in heels," mean anything to you? Sarah Palin is a mother of a mentally handicapped baby, a 17 year old pregnant daughter, and running with McCain as vice president! This just goes to show how skilled she is. Isn't that someone that you WOULD want in office? But anyway, I don't really see why it is such a big deal because McCain would be the person running things...after all, Sarah Palin isn't running for president!!
And...It's definitely not that we hate Obama or that we are racist or anything, it's just that we don't agree with anything he stands for...Republican is the way to go! And who's to say that having McCain is like having another Bush?? Do we really know?? He's not president yet!!
Also...I just want to say to Ted about his list, Why is it a bad thing that McCain and Palin want to make abortion totally illegal?? That's great!! It's about time we have someone illegalize the MURDER that we CAN control!!!!!!!!
Well there you have it....my view on things...

Anonymous said...

Naw, Em, I'm pretty sure it's because we hate Obama as much as they (democrats) hate McCain ;)

Anonymous said...

Ok...so I don't necissarily agree with everything Emily said, but I do agree that it's not about hating the candidate personally...just not agreeing with what they stand for...we can't attack them personally because we don't really know them...we can only go by what we know politically...

Anonymous said...

OK Ashley you are right on one thing. It is nothing against you just on what we believe... It was not right of me. Hey all you people who are in this and who read my blog. Go down to Mr. Olsons room and ask him for the sheet that shows what each candidate believes it. You might be surprised who you actually should vote for. I now believe in both because of my 50/50 split on the issues that they had. It was very difficult for me to accept, but I thought I was very liberal and I found out I was very both so try it some time. You may be surprised.

Anonymous said...

I did it on more issues than the ones that Mr. Olsen had and I got about even again. So It can be difficult to understand but even on the little issues that the Republican and Democratic Parties have they may agree on some things together.

Anonymous said...

Judd you should really learn some Internet etiquette. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

ashley l said...

Thanks Ben ;) Haha

Judd, I know I'm a hard-core Conservative, and I don't think I need a paper to tell me otherwise. Besides, I really don't want to discuss politics with Olson. Cos he's a Repub. too, so it wouldn't really make sense to. Thanks though :)

Anonymous said...

If you agree with most of the issues that Obama agrees in you are a liberal. You may be Rebublican but you are liberal like Obama. But you may agree with more stuff that McCain believes in. What are you. You could have actually been republican. Or you could still be democrat. I learned as I did even more experiments about it that I am a liberal republican this time but another election I may be a liberal democrat. Today I announce I am republican for 4 years but that may change at the end of the term depending on how McCain answers our problems. They can say this and that but most politions are just all talk and no do. So if Obama becomes president he may just do nothing that he said and do a whole set of different things. He says no off shore drilling, but he will change his mind. And McCain will allow offshore drilling. So now with a change in heart and logic...Vote for McCain.

I like the idea that Aaron purposed; everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and, I might add, is entitled to express that opinion without worry of backlash or slander. We all have opinions and should be free to express them, but here in this blog, I am reading a lot of slamming and name-calling about opinions. This IS America, which was founded on the freedom to believe what you want, when you want, and how you want and the freedom to express our ideas and beliefs freely. Sometimes I think we forget that or take it for granted. So stop with the name calling and start proving what you say so that we can believe you.

Anonymous said...

What is up with the labeling of republican or democrat? They are just labels for a general set of beliefs and in no way label the people who declare to be part of one party or the other. Let's take this debate out of the reb/dem field and talk about the candiates and their qualifications. And back up what you say with proof.
