The big push right now in education is incorporating 21st century skills many of which include the use of technology. So just what is technology? What programs, software, hardware and machines should we be using in school and teaching students to use in school? How?

I think using technology in the classroom is a great idea. Technology is the constant improvement in our lives that make them easier. I believe that using online text books would help save our school money as well as keep the kids from remembering their books for every class. Our school could also cut down on costs by taking advantage of using Microsoft or other programs to do assignments on rather than printing them off. The best thing I think our school did this year was getting all the teachers wiki pages. These really help for when students are gone from school, so they can just go online and see what their assignment was.
Technology is a great thing. Everyday in class were using technology constantly. The smart boards in the classrooms make it easier for the teachers to show students different things. Smart boards allow you to multitask white writing on a white board does not. Us students use technology everyday. We use Microsoft Word for typing stories or essays. Some classes we take use have online text books which makes it easier for us to do our homework at home if we forgot our book.
Technology teaches us many great things, but it can also have its downfalls. During school, I feel that if we each had our own laptops then things would go a lot smoother than what they already are, although there is a downfall to having your own laptop in school. For instance, students will take advantage of having their own laptops and won't pay attention during class. Then when it comes to a quiz or test they have no idea what to do or even how to do it because they were checking their email or doing something that they shouldn't have been. It's always a good thing to have some form of technology in schools that definitely will help us when we get out into the real world, especially college.
I do agree with the past comments. Technology is a wonderful thing that is constantly improving and helping us in our everyday lives. But, there are always students that wouldn't use it to their advantage. They would fool around online; playing games and snooping the internet. This could become a huge distraction and could harm the students more than it might help them. It would be extremely helpful to have 24/7 internet access in order to check our e-mail and the teachers' wiki spaces, but this could also be a problem. In my personal opinion technology can be a distraction and can be beneficial depending on the student's point of view and how they want to use the privelage.
I believe technology is a good thing for the people to use although it does have some disadvantages. There are people in this world that are anti-technology and in all actuality it does make since. Technology may someday take over the world and many will be out of a job. In my opinion technology does help us in many different ways, but it also doesn't give us the desire to do things on our own. Technology in the school hasn't been taken too far. It helps us but someday the people will not know how to write, it will all be about the computer and I don't quite agree with that. I think technology is a great thing, but in all actuallity it shouldn't be used all the time. I like technology in my life but too much can become a problem in the future.
