I wouldn't say the internet is making us stupid, but alot of students think that any site on the internet says the truth, which is not true. There is so much false information on the internet and not all people relize that. You can find just about anything you want to learn or read about on the internet. Heck people don't even have to read a book anymore they can just go on the internet and read summary's of each chapter in the book to get all the details. One day I believe all books and even text books will all be online elimating the need to print big books for students to have to carry around. The internet isn't making us stupid but is filling us with false information if read about in the wrond spots.

Yes, our generation depends greatly on the internet and the information it gives us but we may depend almost too much on it. Yeah, I still know how to look for things in encyclopedias but I admit I almost always go to the computer and log onto the internet before going to those "old" books.

I also agree with Caitlin on what she is saying. A lot of students depend significantly on false information...wikipedia being a major source. Websites like these can be easily edited by some silly bonehead trying to be funny or someone who thinks they know the facts.

The internet isn't making us stupid, but we need to keep our minds open too other informational sources.

I believe that the internet may be making us stupid.Almost anyone who gets on any internet site believes just about anything it says. Many people use the internt to help them be lazy by getting answers off of websites. Some day we wont be as smart as we need to be and everyone will rely on the internet. At the same time as making us stupid it is giving us more fake information than we can even believe. And on top of that it is even making us lazy. People need to learn that they need to carry their own weight when they need help, they dont need to rely on the internet.

we cant blame our stupidity all on the internet, because its our own falt that we believe everything it says.

The Internet is the center of school work in our generation, and I believe that it is making learning too easy for us. We can easily access anything on the Internet; in fact, there are multiple sources to your requested search. We have gotten so lazy that whatever we think sounds accurate, we put down on our paper or are inclined to believe it, as Caitlin had said. I would like to think we could at least be educated enough to trust which one is right, but we are a lazy generation and don't bother to look deep into it.
I think teachers should discourage all the Internet sourcing, and rely more on what the library can give us; but living in this generation, that is very difficult.

I agree with courtney on this this is how every body really gets there homework done now. This is were we find most of are reaserch and news. If we did not have internet we could not have email to mail teachers for are assingments or information about school.

I would say that the internet is making us stupid. Some people abuse the internet by using plagerism to acomplish tasks that they were suppose to do in the first place. The internet is making people lazy also. For example: numerous students use online translation to translate the foreign languages they are studying, which never benefits them. They will never actually learn that language and become a more rounded person. The internet has also caused people to become helpless. If they can't find it right away on the internet, they just give up and don't do any deep research and don't actually learn how to use books for research.
