What do you think about the possibility of Redfield converting to a four-day school week? An article I read about it makes it seem like the idea has benefits. Comments?

I think a four day school week for Redfield would benefit not only all of the students but the teachers and other school employee's as well. Giving everyone another day off would allow students to be able to completely big assignments in a shorter time because we would have more time out of school to work on them. The day of school would length which would make for a longer class lectures and debating. I think there are alot of benefits that could come out of a four day school week. There would even be that extra day that school sport activites would be able to take place on and teachers and students would have to worry about make up work and what they would be missing.
Although I will be gone before this ever goes into effect I think it would be a great idea. I don't think our days would have to get much longer and the school year could stay almost the same length, because of the amount of days the state requires. Reducing this day of school would give another day for sporting events to take place, elimating the amount of time students would be gone from the actual classroom. This extra day would also be a good day for students that need extra help to go in and get one on one time with teachers. I think it would also make the year go faster, because weekends would seem to come faster and more often than usual. I would totally be a fan of a four day school week for Redfield High School. I think it is a great idea.
I think there are two very different sides to a four day week. It would be very nice to have a longer weekend and have shorter weeks. There are also bad sides to it. Longer days would make it harder to concentrate at the end of the day. some people are not very good at getting out of beed in the morning. Also many people wont like not haveing as much vacation time.
From a golfer's stand point a four day school week would be awesome! This way we could either go to school monday-thursday or from tuesday-friday. This would be too awesome. Golfers good still do two golf meets a week and only miss one day of school. To me this is ideal. No longer would we miss all kinds of school to participate in America's greatest sport: golf. I don't only think it would benefit the golfers, but also the other students and teachers. Who would turn down a three day weekend?
A four day school week would be an excellent advantage to Redfield because many students need an extra day to not only catch up on homework, but to relax as well. Many students get so caught up in school, they need to take a break once in a while. Not only would a four day school week benefit students for homework, but for sporting events as well. It would be much easier to be active in different sports if we didn't have to worry about getting the school work done on game nights. It would also benefit the teachers in several ways as well as the students.
I could have definitely used the four-day school week this year! Junior year was incredibly tough; a four-day school week would have given us an extra day to catch up on homework and to finish projects. I also agree that a four-day school week would benefit the students involved in sports as well. It's nice to be able to go out and do stuff and not have to make up all of the homework you missed out on that day.
A four day school week doesn't really mean a three day weekend, but it does help with expenses greatly. If the school only had to be heated for four days than it could really cut electrical and heating bills. Sports wuold no longer have to take academic time, and student athletes could play sports without falling behind in school. All in all, I am for the four day school week, but I know that it doesn't exactly give us another day off.
I think a four day school week would be a very bad idea! Because you would think if they made the week into four days that it would add more days to the whole school year in general which all togethor would suck even worse than just 5 days a week. One extra day per week during a year could really add up.
I think that a four day school week could benefit everyone. It would give students a better opportunity and longer time to get all of their homework done espectially written papers. The extra time could possibly increase grades, but aslo potentially lower grades. Some students already have a hard time retaining what they had learned the week prior and would have more of a chance to forget everything over the span of three days. For teachers, I feel they could benefit from it also because they could have more time with their families. They would be able to spen time grading papers and hopefully a nice day to enjoy the presence and time with their family.
In my opinion i think i would like a four day school week because it gives us an extra day just to relax from all the work. We would have to go longer at the end of the year but i still would rather go to a four day school week. We would get an extra day over the weekend to work on papers and or projects that have to be done and some people would use their time to study for a test. There are a few disadvantages. One of them would be the longer school year. The other one would be that we would have longer days at school and longer class periods but longer class periods wouldn’t be bad because we would get a longer chance to learn more
